Penny Witehira has been with us since January 2009 as the Production Co-ordinator for all our events. Penny’s calm exterior and attention to detail provides our technicians with all the information that they need to provide an efficient and reliable service for the centre’s day to day clients.

Dylan Sheehan is the new member to our team. Our young whiz kid who is proficient in both sound and lighting was also the recipient of the Smokefree 2009 Lighting Designer award. He brings a fresh and passionate approach to the industry and our events.

The Brand

Previously established as PVG Productions in 2005, Managing Directors Loren & Peter van Gent have re-aligned the brand to match the overall operation of the company in its current environment.

Recognising “van Gent” as a strong representation of our brand which incorporates Peter’s exceptional technical and sound production skills with Loren’s business and production management skills it seemed a natural progression to change our company name and brand to van Gent Productions.

As part of our brand we chose to incorporate a koru into the logo as it has various representations which we aspire to as individuals and for the future of the company.

The Koru stems from the Maori culture and in particular a fern frond. The Koru represents the fronds ability to bring new life into the world hence terms such as new beginnings, new ideas or nurturing.

Applying these meanings to van Gent Productions we aim to support new ideas, cultivate new relationships and nurture current relationships with our clients, staff and suppliers. By working harmoniously together we can achieve greater outcomes.

What our clients say…….

“van Gent  Productions have been doing the technicals for my show since 2005. Nothing is beyond them. Their attention to detail and pride of what people see and hear on stage in front of them is second to none. As a result of our association and friendship through my concerts, van Gent productions came on board as a partner last year for a 13 date national tour. Loren took the pressure of me to produce a tour, of which she also tour managed. The result was a successful (both artistically and financially) and happy team. I look forward to our next tour”.
